Left the windows down on my truck during a heavy rain last night...
Opened my computer at my inspection this morning and cracked the screen...
I'm just wondering, what's next?

Just out of curiosity, and I'd like to know where the rates are after licensing, what would you charge for a 1983, split level with 2 furnaces, attached garage. 1750 sq/ft. I charge as a minimum $495.00. Where are the rest of the Alberta home inspectors at? Now let's not turn this into the typical Nachi...My dick is Bigger than yours match...I'd like to hear some serious numbers to compare and to possibly up the rate for us.

So, every body knows double taps are incorrect, so why is this 2013 home equipped with this type of breaker? Is it a new breaker that allows 2 wires to be connected to one breaker.? I know the reason behind double tap being incorrect, so being that this breaker separates each wire, makes it ok......what do you guys think?

Hello Folks. I have been out of the inspection business for years and as I was moving the other day I discovered, deep in storage, my Thomas model107CAB18 pump that I had purchased when I was doing inspections and planning on doing mold testing. I never got into that niche and this pump was never used. Includes the pump, tubing and a Dwyer VFB-67 flow meter. $275.00 will get you all including shipping. Please e-mail me for pics and further info. carminefuoco@yahoo.com

I'm looking at a 100 amp, Square D panel. The cover cannot be removed due to blockage by fireplace.
The main breaker's two levers are missing the cap that ties them together.
Is this a noteable problem? What is the hazard?

Is anyone using a windows 8 platform for data collection on site or in the office for writing report? I am a HIP user and I am runiing my office on a window xp and my understanding is that in a few months windows will no longer support XP, so I am looking at updating and starting data collection on site. My thought is, why not get the most up to date program? :) Thanks

I got a summons to go to court. The court is 5 hours away from my location. They sent a check for 230.00.
Can I request more money from the Lawyer??
I will loose $900.00 in inspection fees and also my travel and gas.
The lady called me due to a bad renovation. I performed an inspection on the home to find bad workmanship. He got 18 months of free rent and is going after her for another $16,000. The money and time involved was no where near the $34,000 dollars he is allegadly out for the reno. He even sub let the basement suite without telling her!
Just thought a little background on the situation was prudent. This is not what I will be saying in court. As a wise man once said: "just the facts maam".

DIY'er decides after watching too many Fix & Flip shows that he can make some easy money...........so he purchases property, fixes it up, land contract and the only thing left is the home inspection.
I get there and see red flags all over the place.......I do inspection and then agent calls me when I finish up......told her that I suspect her so called investor friend did renovations without permits and is not licensed.
I get a call 5 minutes later and sure enough he admits to everything.
I advice him to get in touch with county and not do any more jobs without being licensed and permitted.
Head to next job and lo and behold.....same thing except this time DIY and buyer get into big argument............not good.
I just don't feel sorry for these guys...........
